The ANOCA Youth Olympic Games 2025 have come to a thrilling conclusion, and Zimbabwe is basking in the glory of its athletes’ outstanding performances.
Miriam Masiyiwa and Munesu Chimini, two talented young golfers, have brought home the gold, topping the leaderboard in their respective categories.
Masiyiwa, a rising star in Zimbabwean golf, has shot to fame with her impressive score of 2 under par, securing the top spot in the girls’ leaderboard. Her consistency and skill have paid off, and she’s proven herself to be a force to be reckoned with in the golfing world.
She shrugged off strong competition from Belinda Wanjiru (Kenya) and Josephine Clement Benjamin (Nigeria), who came second and third respectively, while Ghana’s Ellen Abena Amezado and Carla Beunda of Angola completed the top 5 list.
In the boys’ category, Munesu Chimini has made his mark, claiming the top spot with a score of 1 under par. His dedication and hard work have earned him a well-deserved victory, and he has set a shining example for young golfers across the country.
The journey to victory was not easy either for the young Zimbabwean golfer but he fought tooth and nail to ensure he puts his competitors to bed. He saw off Sean Nei (Namibia), and Kingsley Afful (Ghana) as well as Tsevi Soni (Kenya), to land the coveted gold.
Cote d’Ivoire’s Kouakou Kouassi, Destiny Oyero of Nigeria, Libya’s Ahmab Tawire and Justimo Kitecula of Angola followed – in that order – on the leaderboard.
Following Masiyiwa and Chimini’s success stories, the Zimbabwe’s golfing community has found itself buzzing with excitement, and these two talented youngsters are surely set to inspire a new generation of golfers.
The ANOCA Youth Olympic Games 2025 have been a resounding success, showcasing the talents of young athletes from across the region.
